The Leadership for INClusion in the Early Years (LINC) Programme is a Level 6 Special Purpose Award (Higher Education). This programme is designed to enhance the inclusion of all children in Early Learning and Care (ELC) settings through the development of the role of INclusion COordinator (INCO). The programme is part of a Government commitment to the provision of high-quality education and training in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education, and was introduced as part of the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) in 2016.LINC is delivered by a consortium led by Mary Immaculate College (MIC) and including Early Childhood Ireland, Maynooth University-Froebel Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education and the National Childhood Network.

Join Fiona Kirkland in exploring the essential role of play in creating inclusive environments for children.

The LINC Programme is proud to celebrate the very first International Day of Play on Tuesday, June 11th. To mark this wonderful occasion, the LINC Programme will be hosting a free webinar featuring guest speaker Fiona Kirkland, Play Pedagogy Officer at Play Scotland. Fiona will be joined by Shirley Heaney, National Co-ordinator of the LINC Programme, Dr. Lisha O'Sullivan, Head of the Department of Reflective Pedagogy at Mary Immaculate College, and Prof. Emer Ring, Dean of Early Childhood and Teacher Education at Mary Immaculate College. Together, they will explore the vital role of play in creating inclusive environments for children, and Fiona will share insights into Play Scotland's initiatives, including:<ul><li>Play Pedagogy in Scotland</li><li>Supporting transitions</li><li>Fostering inclusive play environments</li><li>Benefits of loose parts play</li></ul>
