About the Coder Dojo sessions:
The next block of Coder Dojo sessions will commence on Saturday 29h February at 14:30 in Presentation College Bray. Sessions are 90 minutes long. The last session in this block will be on 4th April. There will be 6 sessions on consecutive Saturdays. The sessions are dependent on adequate volunteer numbers and are subject to change. 
Tickets are free and will be released on a first come first served basis. Because demand usually exceeds the available places, the only way to ensure that your child gets a place is to Volunteer. <A CLASS="attrlink" HREF="https://www.coderdojobray.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CoderDojo Bray</A> is a coding club where the students (aged 7-17) work with each other and a group of technical mentors to learn more about building websites, developing computer games and writing code. This block of sessions will have several parallel but related streams:

write games and animations using Scratch
</LI>
<LI>
create mobile apps using AppInventor 
</LI>
<LI>
create websites using HTML/CSS
</LI>
<LI>
animate your HTML website using Javascript
</LI>
<LI>
IoT: introduction to electronics, programming the BBC Micro:bit, Raspberry Pi or Arduino boards
</LI>
<LI>
Advanced Coding for experienced students
</LI>
<LI>
Never 2 Old 2 Code: This is a stream for parents, grandparents or guardians of students attending the Dojo to learn how to code.

We have a small tuck shop where we sell a snack, sweets and fruit at break time at 3.30pm for a nominal fee (usually €1). You're also welcome to bring along your own snack if you prefer. Please bring a water bottle or juice for your child as we no longer sell them at the tuck shop. We sell coffee, tea and buiscuits for the adults. Any small proceeds from these sales go towards the Dojo's running costs.
Important: Parents MUST stay in the college during the dojo sessions. Under the terms of our insurance, only students participating in the Dojo are covered so we cannot accept younger children accompanying parents during the session. Parents/accompanying adults can bring along a laptop too and learn a little about coding in a separate room. Please sign up for the Never 2 Old 2 Code (N2O2C) stream below and let a mentor know.
 
What to prepare before the Sessions
1. Each student must bring along a laptop (Windows or Mac, but not iPads or tablets) that is wifi-enabled. You must have the necessary admin rights (password) to the laptop to allow software to be installed and network access to be configured.
2. Create a folder on the computer called CoderDojo, where your children can save all of their work.
3. Please download and install the following software on the computer:

if you choose the Never 2 Old 2 Code you must also register a child to a different stream. This is a stream aimed at parents, grandparents or guardians of students attending the Dojo. All that is required is a laptop and the two hours spent whilst your child is coding. The current options available are Scratch and HTML/CSS.
