About this event

Join Carlow Sports Partnership as we celebrate #HerOutdoors week 2021 with an immersive recreational experience on 15th August 2021.

Arrive and park in Graiguenamanagh cross over the 18th -century bridge where you will register and get a set of activator poles.

Activator trainers will then introduce you to the activator poles, set them up and start with a gentle warm-up routine. The walk will commence towards Ballykeenan Lock, and walkers will be encouraged to stand, stretch, breath and look back at Brandon Hill as it towers over the river behind you.

As you proceed, the steep wooded slopes drop to the riverbank which creates a perfect backdrop for photo opportunities. You will follow the trail to Clashganny Lock, where we will take a dip in the designated swimming area.

This is an opportunity for you to experience immersing in the open water, even if you are not a swimmer allow yourself to try a refreshing dip in the river under the watchful eye of the Carlow County Council Lifeguards.

When everyone is dry and dressed we will progress to Clashganny House for morning coffee/tea and freshly baked scones.

After your refreshments & chat, we will take the trail back to Graiguenamanagh, then get your yoga mat/towel and enjoy a relaxed gentle guided yoga session with Yoga teacher Orla Thornton who will end the yoga session with 10min quiet time. This will be followed by eating and enjoy your own prepared lunch.

After this welcome rest, participants will be invited to finish off the day in Waterside Restaurant for a complimentary farewell coffee/tea only and reflect on your day.
