About this workshop
ADHD can impact an individual’s ability to work in a number of ways. Common challenges include attention, organisation, impulse control, and executive functioning.
In this in-person workshop, Occupational Therapists Michelle Murray and Ailís O’Dea from Anchor Therapy will explore how ADHD affects working life and how practical occupational therapy strategies can support people to function more effectively at work.
Occupational Therapists support individuals to develop practical life skills to:
- Better manage day-to-day routines
- Improve performance at school, college, and work
- Build healthier self-care habits
- Develop and maintain a more balanced work–life routine
This workshop is suitable for people who are self-employed, working in busy or demanding roles, working part-time or from home, or currently preparing to enter or return to employment.
About the presenters
Michelle Murray is the founder of Anchor Therapy OT and has over 10 years’ experience working in the private sector in Ireland supporting young people and adults with ADHD. Prior to this, Michelle worked in Australia on a trauma specialist unit with young people experiencing early psychosis.
Ailís O’Dea is a senior Occupational Therapist who has worked with Anchor Therapy for the past three years. Previously, she worked in the public sector on Adult Mental Health teams, including specialist ADHD services.
Both presenters have extensive experience supporting individuals to manage workplace challenges and to navigate returning to work following a period of ill health.
Workshop content will include:
- The role of Occupational Therapy in supporting you at work
- Nurturing your foundations: the role of self-care at work, including sleep, diet, exercise, and rest
- Identifying and making changes at work: setting effective, realistic goals to help you work better
