St Eunan/Adhamhnán/Adomnán, the patron of the diocese of Raphoe, was one of the most important Donegal men - ever; although his achievements are not widely known now. His birth occurred sometime between 624 and 627, so this year could be its 1,400th anniversary. He lived a full and productive life, dying in 704 at nearly 80 years of age. This talk will include a description of what we can know about his life and achievements. Brian Lacey is an archaeologist and historian, mainly specializing in the north-west of Ireland, from the sixth to the sixteenth centuries. He is the author of over ten books, and many research papers
