Join TU Dublin students and Afri for a powerful day of workshops, music and reflection on children’s and young people’s rights.

Join us for this year's Afri Hedge School, a creative and participatory gathering rooted in the spirit of Ireland's original hedge schools, which emerged at a time when strict laws suppressed people's right to education. These secret gatherings were acts of resistance and imagination, reminders that knowledge and truth cannot be suppressed.Today, Afri's Hedge School continues that legacy by holding space for collective learning, questioning, and action. Together, we explore the deep connections between peace, justice, equality, and care for the Earth, this year asking what these mean for children and young people in our world today.Through creative workshops, music and shared conversation, we will reflect on how children and young people experience their rights in everyday life and the powerful role they play in shaping a more just and peaceful future.This year's Hedge School is led by the Third Year Community Development and Youth Work students at <a href="https://www.tudublin.ie/explore/our-campuses/blanchardstown/" title="https://www.tudublin.ie/explore/our-campuses/blanchardstown/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TU Dublin Blanchardstown</a>, alongside our partners <a href="https://redialpartnership.org/" title="https://redialpartnership.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Redial</a>, continuing Afri's long-standing commitment to education as liberation and to standing in solidarity across generations and struggles.<h3>Travel from TU Dublin, Blanchardstown</h3>A free return bus will run between A Block, TU Dublin Blanchardstown Campus (D15 E7YH) and St Laurence’s, TU Dublin Grangegorman.
