AIB Start-up Night in Athlone

If you are a startup business, or are thinking about launching one, then we want to meet you.

AIB Start-up Nights are where the startup community gets together. Mingle with fellow entrepreneurs and hear some of Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs speak about their experiences.

Each night will feature leading entrepreneurs sharing their war stories from the stage. But these events are not just for established entrepreneurs. If you are thinking of making the leap into starting up, then come to a night and tap in to the community. This is a unique opportunity to draw inspiration and build your network. And if you are seriously thinking about launching a business, this is a unique opportunity to meet the talent you may require.

The nights have also been designed to help you to find and meet potential collaborators and investors. When you register for a place at one of the events you will be asked if you are looking for team members, or looking to join a startup, or maybe find an investor.

A team from The Irish Times will be present at each event to shoot video profiles of startups, record pitches and capture what startups think their biggest challenges and opportunities are.

For those who are at the idea stage, these nights are a way to start thinking seriously about getting ready to take the leap and start up.

Guest speaker on the night will be Roz Martin (MedColl), and Brian Fitzpatrick(Oriel Sea Salt).

Roz Martin – MedColl

Roz Martin studied Business and Pharmacology in the UK and spent almost 10 years working in the UK's pharmaceutical industry. She then relocated to the Middle East to specialise in Biotechnology Pharmaceuticals for Johnson & Johnson.

Brian Fitzpatrick – Oriel Sea Salt Ltd

Oriel extracts and harvests the ocean to produce a full flavour, fine grain Natural Mineral Sea Salt with an unique intense flavour . They also harvest a Concentrated Sea Mineral blend, rich in Elemental Magnesium for use in Skincare & Cosmetics and Food/Health Supplements.

Brian was previously the MD of Copperbush Ltd -Brazilian sugar suppliers, Cladagh distribution group and Cladagh worktop savers.
