Join us for an evening of conversation with Irish novelist and journalist, Audrey Magee.
The Consulate General of Ireland in Munich is delighted to welcome Irish novelist and journalist, Audrey Magee.
Audrey Magee was born in Ireland and lives in Wicklow. She worked for twelve years as a journalist and has written for, among others, The Irish Times, The Times, the Observer and the Guardian. She studied German and French at University College Dublin and journalism at Dublin City University.
Her first novel, The Undertaking, was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, for France’s Festival du Premier Roman and for the Irish Book Awards. It was also nominated for the Dublin Literary Award and the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. The Undertaking has been translated into ten languages and is being adapted for film.
Audrey’s second novel, The Colony, was published first in February 2022 and was longlisted for The Booker Prize. It was further shortlisted for The Orwell Prize, as well as both the Eason Novel of the Year and the Kerry Group Novel of the Year.
