Date and time
Cáit na Pluaise's Walk and Talk with archaeologist Aoibheann Lambe
About this event
Walk the historical trail of Cáit na Pluaise's with archaeologist Aoibheann Lambe. We will met at Coad carpark and proceed via a very fine and little-known ring-fort to the the rock shelter between Caherdaniel and Coad where Cáit and her family lived in the post-famine years.
This site, now a national monument, is a very rare and interesting example of a rock shelter with evidence of human habitation - some of the rocks are inscribed with carvings, the oldest of which most probably predate the shelter's occupation in Cáit's time.
This event is family friendly but please note the ground is very wet in places, suitable footwear, waterproofs and hiking poles are recommended. Bring drinks and snacks if you like.
This event is outdoors on rough terrain and weather dependent - all ticket holders will be emailed a day before the event with updates.
