Nestled at the foot of the old Ballykeeffe Quarry,and just ten minutes outside Kilkenny city, Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre is run entirely by volunteers and brings the authentic atmosphere of an open-air Italian theatre to the rolling Kilkenny countryside. The once-bustling slate quarry had lain abandoned and in disarray for many years, with most indifferent to its very existence.Lying beneath Ballykeeffe Woodland Nature Reserve which stretches to the edge of the quarry, the Amphitheatre now boasts a state-of-the-art steel canopy which perfectly compliments the astounding natural acoustics of the deep quarry walls, providing a magical experience for those attending the array of musical and theatrical performances hosted here.

Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre

Aslan are an Irish Rock band from Dublin who formed in 1982. Composed of Christy Dignam, Joe Jewell, Billy McGuinness, Alan Downey &amp; Rodney O'Brien. Aslan's Album GOODBYE CHARLIE MOONHEAD was released 25 years ago back in 1994. The band are touring the album throughout 2019 and are delighted to announce they will be playing at the Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre. Songs such as RAINMAN , WHERES THE SUN , GAMES, SWEET TIME, GOODBYE CHARLIE MOONHEAD and of course CRAZY WORLD will be performed LIVE on this tour. Don’t worry the band will also be playing crowd favourites THIS IS , TOO LATE FOR HALLELUJAH  and more .

What can I bring into the event?
Remember to bring  those tickets and get set for an evening of fun and relaxation. This is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately. 
As part of the licencing agreement, only alcohol purchased on premises may be consumed at the event. At each entry point, a security check will be performed. Any alcoholic beverages found will be confiscated.
Can children attend the event?
Children are always welcome here in Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre but patrons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
Please note that for all up coming events, ID will be checked. Anyone under 18 without an accompanying adult will not be permitted.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The best transport option to the event is by car where there is ample parking on-site. Taxis also service the area from all local towns.
