About this event
- 5 hours 30 minutes
You are warmly invited to a Spiritual Ecology small group retreat in the very peaceful FCJ Spirituality House, in Spanish Point, County Clare on Saturday 11th May 2024.
In this 1 day retreat we will explore the threads of Spiritual Ecology and Celtic Christianity, and how our hearts can open us to an ever deepening kinship with the living world.
At this time of ecological crisis and transition there is an invitation for us to move away from a human centric paradigm, to one that honours the interbeing nature of all of existence.
We will explore how we can become more rooted in joy and peace, and how our faith and spiritual practices can contribute to the evolution and wellbeing of the whole.
This is a contemplative retreat gathering with a focus on direct experience, and the cultivation of the heart through meditation/centering prayer, talks, and heart centred spiritual ecology awareness practices.
A Welcoming and Inclusive Gathering
We are an affirming inclusive retreat gathering, welcoming people from all Christian denominations, faith backgrounds, religious traditions, spiritual backgrounds, and none.

About the Facilitator:
I’m an inclusive contemplative Christian and a new monastic with a grá for spiritual ecology.
In my life I balance an interwoven rhythm of meditation, prayer, blessed sacraments, study, community action, and a consultancy career in human rights and environmental protection organisations.
My contemplative journey started with John Main's Christian Meditation and in more recent years it has deepened with St Teresa of Ávila’s Prayer of the Heart and Centering Prayer.
I’ve been involved in Sufi-Christian interspirituality for the last 9+ years. I facilitate online and in-person Celtic Christian Spirituality Meditation circles and interfaith/interspiritual gatherings for peace.
I’m particularly interested in engaged forms of faith and spiritual responsibility in response to the global climate and social crises present in our world.
