‘At the creek of Baginbun, Ireland was lost and won’ is well remembered here in Wexford. It refers to the Normans’ victory over the local forces who fought them on their arrival in Baginbun in 1170. Arguably, one of the most significant events in Irish history.
Come join us at Fethard Castle for a weekend full of medieval fun and excitement. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the Peninsula with Norman reenactors, local crafts, and delicious food.
Along with an action packed schedule including medieval games, kids games, music and a display from the Dunbrody Archers and who knows, you might even get a chance to try your hand at a bit of archery.
Plus a night of music in St Mogues Church later on.
