Our Adult Ballet classes focus on the enjoyment of ballet with flowing barre and Centre practice, whilst building core strength, dance technique, balance and co-ordination. We love sharing the joy of Ballet! This class is for those with some experience (even if as a child or a long time ago) but not suitable for complete Beginners. if you have done SOME dance before (hip hop or contemporary) and want to try ballet, you are welcome.
This Term will be shared by two amazing Ballet Teachers:
Karen Wignall is a qualified teacher in both Dance and Pilates. She holds both RAD RTS qualification, ITEC Pilates Teaching Diploma with Distinction and is certified to teach Progressing Ballet Technique. Karen trained as a student at London College of Dance and Drama. She has been a regular teacher at Dance Theatre of Ireland and we welcome her back this term.
Dearbhla Mitchell was a lead soloist with the Monica Loughman Ballet Company and played an active role in the UCD Dance Society. She has taught Pilates, Pilates and Barre for Irish dancers, studied STOTT Pilates Matwork and has a great love of music-- all of which informs her ballet technique classes--for strength, flexibility and control.
If you feel unwell in ANY way, please do NOT attend. Dressing rooms will be open for use.
The studio will open 10 minutes before the class.
COVID remains present in the community, along with Flu and Colds. We ask that you please observe social distancing, respiratory etiquette (sneeze or cough into your elbow, not your hands!) and use hand hygiene while using the facility.
