Pat Sweeney
A native of Killargue, Co Leitrim, Pat Sweeney has been at the heart of Sligo music for the past three decades and is widely known and regarded in traditional music circles for his prowess and virtuosity in both performance and session. Pat played regularly for years with fellow Killargue native and longtime Sligo resident, the late great accordion player Kevin O'Brien and they were both founding members of the band Shebeen which they formed in 1978, joined by singer and guitarist Padraic Brennan of Gurteen, Co. Sligo and flute player from Keadue, Co. Roscommon, Tommy Guihen.
