The Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival welcomes Newgrange Willow Design back to Donabate to share their beautiful willow weaving techniques.

Donabate Portrane Community Centre

Come explore your creative side and discover one of the world’s oldest crafts! In this beginner basket-making course, Ronan and Elaine will introduce you to the basic techniques and skills of willow weaving with step by step instructions. By the end of the session, you’ll have completed your own round basket.The basketry willow you will be using is 100% Irish and grown at Newgrange Co. Meath. It comes in a variety of colours and sizes so your basket will be totally unique!
