Because I'm Worth It
An evening in the company of Barbara Scully as she tells us why older women are so worth it and how to ensure the world knows that.
‘Because I’m Worth It is Barbara Scully’s new One Woman Show and follows on from the success of ‘Older Bolder Wiser’ which she toured in 2025.Barbara is a well known voice on radio and one half of the very popular 'So You Think You're An Adult' on Newstalk's Moncrieff Show.
This new show is once again on the theme of getting older but with a different focus and in Barbara’s trademark combination of stand-up comedy and story telling. This time Barbara spins tales of how, now that she is in her sixties, she is now finally able to put herself front and centre of her life as she realises that she is ‘bloody well worth it’.”
Her shows, although clearly aimed mainly at women, have been a hit with the men who have attended too. “I have had men at all my shows, and they laughed and learned lots along the way.” Barbara feels that her unique selling point is that she is serving an audience who are not well served by stand up comedy. She says, “I want my audience to go home having had a good laugh and feeling much better about getting older than they did when they arrived.”
