Bigsky was formed in 2023, after the members came together through bonding over 90s alt-rock bands like Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins and Fontaines D.C. Based in kinsale, their sound blends the intricate acoustic sound of Adrienne Lenker and tone of Bôa and Jeff Buckley, with the indie-rock edge of Pavement. Bigsky also occasionally dip into heavier tones of grunge and rock to create a dynamic live sound.
