A brainhack is an event that brings together people interested in the brain to work on projects related to neuroscience.  At the beginning of the brainhack you will pitch projects and then you will have two full days to work on the project that you and your team will choose. Previous projects have included finding a way to print the brain in 3D, creating an atlas of the subcortical auditory system and creating a machine learning tutorial.  ​On the last day, the team that created the best project will be awarded a prize. 
Brainhack Ireland is great for any level of expertise, this is an occasion to learn new methods, develop new skills, meet new people, and just have fun!  During the event there will be unconference sessions, including presentations on ongoing projects of the participants, ideas that could seed future collaborations or panel discussions. 
 
​Brainhack Ireland aims to promote collaborations within Ireland and to create an Irish community of scientists interested in the brain. We will also offer educational sessions, like hands-on tutorials on basic tools of open collaboration.
