The IUA (Irish Universities Association) universities are collaborating to lead the establishment of a National Framework for quality assured Micro-Credentials (MC), the first in Europe. MicroCredentials are a proof of learning outcomes that a learner has acquired following a short learning experience. The MC project will commit to work in partnership with enterprise to transform lifelong learning in Ireland. MC are owned by the learner, can be shared, are portable and may be combined into larger credentials or qualifications.
At Maynooth University we are developing a micro-credential on the 'Quality Aspects of Brewing & Distilling' which will be primarily lab based, to help graduates build upon the analytical skills required to perform successfully in the industry. We believe that this proposed course of study and associated micro qualification will be very welcome additions to the Irish Distilling and Brewing worlds and in particular to the craft and micro distillery and brewery industries.
We are planning a consultation event for Saturday, February 26th at Maynooth University. Don't miss this opportunity to meet up with your peers in the industry and provide information on what skills are needed so we can work in synergy with you to provide academic expertise.
