Event description
Engaging Dementia is delighted to announce our new range of dementia training for care partners in nursing homes and in the home setting.

About this event

Bringing Joy Sessions aims to bring joy and delight to people living with dementia and older adults. These workshops have been developed to address the isolation that a dementia diagnosis can bring by providing meaningful and engaging activities.

Target audience: Activities Coordinators, Care partners in nursing homes

Subscription: €40 for four sessions with access to exclusive content on our private YouTube channel

Cost: €15 per session

April Theme: April Showers

These training sessions will take place on Zoom on the first Wednesday of every month (February to July) for an hour at 10am. The sessions will be recorded and made available for everyone who subscribes to watch again, or if you miss one of the live sessions.

As part of the subscription service, we will also offer a series of networking events where care partners can share ideas and discuss best practices.

These workshops and networking sessions will be delivered by Joyce Fitzpatrick. Joyce Fitzpatrick has extensive experience in setting up and running activities for older adults and those with cognitive impairment.

She cared for her own mother living with Alzheimer’s for 17 years while raising her children, and gardening in local schools. She understands how activities need to be person centered, meaningful, easy to set up and fun. She has a background in Botany, Horticulture and Nature Therapy, and studied with Dementia Care Matters, David Sherard, and Bradford and Coventry University.
