About this event

This is a substantial piece of work... the message needs to be spread about how good this is! Is This Music?, Independent Sounds from Sotland

Broken Chanter, out of Glasgow, is David MacGregor, on his lonesome, or accompanied by an array of very talented musicians. For his Irish debut, it will be a two-piece band, in the intimate surrounds of the Upstairs Underground of Phil Grimes Pub. The new Broken Chanter album, Catastrophe Hits, voted ALBUM OF THE YEAR by Scottish indie bible, The Weekender, is filled to the brim with sharp pop sensibility, visceral lyrics as well as some sublime gentler moments. If you love Scottish bands like Teenage Fanclub and Orange Juice, you need to get yourself to this gig.

MacGregor spent 2007-2017 as the principal songwriter of Scottish Alt-Pop darlings Kid Canaveral - a band that could get you to dance, laugh, and weep all in the space of a set. Critical acclaim has followed him into Broken Chanter and mainstream success beckons. Catch him while you can.
