Dana Paraschiv, The Pensions Authority

Dana Paraschiv joined the Pensions Authority in 2018 as Assistant Head of Supervision and Enforcement. The Pensions Authority is the Irish regulator for occupational pension schemes and PRSAs. The Supervision and Enforcement Unit is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Pensions Act through forward-looking risk-based supervision and instigates prosecutions and other sanctions where breaches are found to have occurred.

Prior to joining the Pensions Authority, Dana worked in supervision and regulation of energy markets with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) and in policy development with the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.

Dana is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest (Hons BA Economics), National College of Ireland (MSc Management) and has completed studies in the field of pensions and financial services with the Irish Institute of Pensions Management and Dublin Business School. She has represented the Pensions Authority and the CRU at various national and international fora including the OECD’s International Organisation for Pensions Supervisors (IOPS) and the European Commission.

Paul Kenny, Retirement Planning Council of Ireland

Paul Kenny spent more than 34 years in the pensions industry before being appointed as Ireland’s first Pensions Ombudsman in 2003. He retired from that position in May 2016. Paul was a founder Fellow of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management, and a Director for ten years of the Retirement Planning Council of Ireland and its Chairman for three years. He has written and lectured extensively on pensions and related matters and holds a Level 7 Certificate in Training and Continuing Education from NUI Maynooth.
