About this event
- 3 hours
We are delighted to invite you to the launch of this year's Child Poverty Monitor. This is the third in a unique series of reports that analyse child poverty in Ireland. The Child Poverty Monitor examines key areas of concern, outlines recommendations to Government and showcases best practice solutions that are working to address child poverty and marginalisation in communities across the country.
This year, we are launching the report in person in Swan Youth Service, Dublin 1. This special launch will feature an overview of the Child Poverty Monitor analysis and a keynote address that looks at the impact of child poverty on children and young people. This will be followed by a panel discussion showcasing solutions and initiatives that are working to address child poverty across the country across a number of different thematic areas.
Chair: Denise Charlton, Chief Executive of Community Foundation Ireland
Keynote: Elizabeth Canavan, Assistant Secretary General, Social Policy and Public Service Reform Division, Department of the Taoiseach.
Speakers:
- Grainne McKenna, Assistant Professor at Dublin City University, Institute of Education
- Sinead Smith, CEO, Meath Women's Refuge and Support Services
- Gillian Brien, Director, Swan Youth Service
The event will also feature a presentation on the research findings by the Children's Rights Alliance team.
Hear from our 'Spotlight Solutions' - our panel will include speakers from the best practice models and initiatives working to address child poverty at a local and national level.
We look forward to seeing you there!
