Circular by Design is a first-of-its kind pilot professional training programme run by Creative Future Academy and the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, and made possible with the support of the CIRCULÉIRE Innovation Fund.
Over the past six months, the Circular by Design programme has supported 11 textile and apparel designers, brands and manufacturers to make the transition to circular practices in every step of their design, value chain and business model.
The programme has also established a Community of Practice to support a wider cohort of 30+ stakeholders in the Irish fashion & textile industry in their circular design development, culminating in an Innovation Festival in Smock Alley on the 17th November.
Over coffee & pastries, the Circular by Design team and pilot cohort will highlight the urgent need and unique opportunity we have to create a just, circular textiles industry in Ireland - and the critical role that design and education play in enabling that transition. A talk, panel discussion and showcase of the pilot brands’ pioneering circular solutions will introduce you to the outcomes of the Circular by Design programme so far, as well its future plans to scale and evolve its impact.
