We invite everyone who cares about nature and our community to join a volunteer clean-up action in St'Dominiks Park, Drogheda,Co.Louth

We invite everyone who cares about nature and our community to join a volunteer clean-up of the River Boyne and the nearby Greenway area in Drogheda.

📅 Date: Sunday, 22 March
🕚 Time: 11:00 – 13:00
📍 Meeting Point: St. Dominic’s Park, Drogheda

This community action is organised with the support of Drogheda Tidy Towns, Louth Local Development and takes place as part of the Heritage Keepers project and Circular.ie grant programme.

The clean-up is dedicated to the Spring Equinox — a symbolic moment of renewal in nature.
On this day we invite people to reconnect with the Earth, reflect on our shared responsibility for the planet, and take a simple but meaningful step toward a cleaner environment.

Together we will care for the River Boyne and surrounding green spaces, helping to protect the natural beauty of the place we live in.

🧤 Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided.
👟 Please wear suitable outdoor footwear.

After the clean-up, refreshments for volunteers will be provided with the support of Louth County Council.

Part of the Awakening the Earth Festival

This eco-action is part of the three-day community festival “Awakening the Earth – Spring Equinox Eco & Heritage Festival” taking place in Drogheda from 20–22 March.

Festival highlights include:

🌱 20 March – Online Eco Talk
A conversation about ecological thinking and sustainable living.

🌸 21 March – Women & Spring gatherings
Circles, brunch meetings and community events across Ireland.

🌿 22 March – Community Action & Cultural Festival
Morning river clean-up followed by the Awakening the Earth Festival in the afternoon at St Mary’s Parish Pastoral Centre, featuring music, cultural traditions and eco-initiatives.
