Winter Coaching Children Workshops

Children's needs in sport are different to the needs of adults; therefore the coaches of children should be equipped with specific knowledge, skills and competencies to fulfill the needs of children within a sport and physical activity settings.

Louth Local Sports Partnership in conjunction with Sport Ireland Coaching is delighted to launch a series of ‘Coaching Children Workshops’ in November and December 2022 to support coaches to deliver high quality sport and physical activity sessions to children.

Sport Ireland Coaching has developed four modules, specifically to provide candidates with a basic understanding of children's sport and physical activity and the best ways to optimise children's enjoyment, participation and positive outcomes in sport. The concepts of physical literacy and holistic development run throughout the series of workshops and will be covered in detail.

The workshops will be delivered by tutors from Sport Ireland Coaching and resources will be provided to all coaches after each workshop to support on-going learning and development.

• Workshop 1 Wednesday November 23rd 6 30pm – 9 30pm (ONLINE):

• Workshop 2 Wednesday November 30th 6 30pm – 9 30pm (ONLINE):

Child-Centred Coaching - Understanding Child Development & Learning and its Impact on How We Coach

• Workshop 3 & 4 Sunday December 4th 10 00am – 4 00pm Dundalk Sports Centre: Developing Physical Literacy through Sport 1 - Coaching Children to Move

Cost: €20 for all 4 workshops

Please note: Attendance at all four workshops is compulsory for Sport Ireland Coaching Certification & resources.
