On May 25th @ 7am, around fifty cyclists will gather in the Pillo Hotel for early morning coffee and scones, in preparation to take on the annual Coast2Coast Charity Cycle Challenge, from the Atlantic Ocean at Galway Bay, to the Irish Sea at Laytown Co. Meath.
This will be the 8th Lions Club Coast2Coast Cycle Challenge. All funds raised go towards supporting both local worthy causes and other well-known national charities that are selected every year by the committee. This year’s chosen charities are:

  • Meath Palliative Care
  • St Francis Hospice
  • Meath Womens Refuge

Distance: The distance is around 230km and is completed over the two days arriving in Laytown at 5pm on Sunday May 26th.
Entrance Fee: A deposit of €50 guarantees your place. The entrance fee is a minimum of €250 and this includes your transportation by tour bus to Galway Bay, Bed and Breakfast in Athlone, plus all food, snacks and Water on route over the two days.

Sponsor Cards: Sponsor cards and online sponsorship cards will be made available in April.

Training option: If you are keen to start training or to just get cycling again, then The Ashburner Cycling Club meet up every weekend on Saturday and Sunday mornings at the Cinema, and cater for cyclists of all skill levels. This offers you a great opportunity to get fit and work towards the C2C challenge in May.
