Coding Workshop- Casting Harry Potter spells in Minecraft with Python code

Coding workshop which will use the programming language 'Python' to cast Harry Potter spells in Minecraft . Suitable for ages  for 11-12 yrs

The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and the The SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence and the School of Computer Science and Information Technology in UCC have organised a series of short coding workshops for the Cork Science Festival ( https://www.corksciencefestival.ie/) on the 13th Nov 2022 .<h3>3 workshops held at 11.30 am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm </h3>P﻿lease present eventbrite ticket or E-ticket at the registration desk ( located outside G20)D﻿uration :40 minsL﻿ocation: G20 (Western Gateway Building)D﻿ate: Sunday 13th NovT﻿here is max capacity of 20 children per workshop ( plus at least one parent per child )S﻿uitable for ages 11-12 yrs.The aim is to teach children basic Python coding using the Minecraft platform. The Python code delivered will have a Magic theme, making the effect from the code output like Harry Potter's spell.Python is one of the most popular programming languages in recent years (the others are Java and C, based on this statistichttps://spectrum.ieee.org/top-programming-languages-2022)which means Python developers are in high demand in the IT industry )Python's syntax (like grammar) is shorter than Java and similar to but simpler than C which makes Python a more straightforward language to start with for beginners. Python is versatile and can be used in-app, software, web development, and most trending areas as AI (Artificial Intelligence), Data Science &amp; Analysis!Note:Entry is allowed only if a parent accompanies their child. This parent accepts responsibility for the child during the entire session and stays in the session until it ends. Your child may want to exit the workshop early or use restrooms etc and parent/s need to be there at all times to attend to their child's needs. Tutors and volunteers do not accept any responsibility for supervising children so it is obligatory that a parent remains in the workshop for the entirety of the session.N﻿ote: Please arrive 5-10 mins before the event starts in order to register the parent and child for the coding session.P﻿lease PRINT or have Eventbrite E-Ticket available in order to register at the desk which will be located outside G20 in Western Gateway Building.
