About this event

CONNECT is running a workshop to explore the concept of challenge-based funding and CONNECT’s potential to contribute to SFI’s Zero Emissions Challenge. This challenge of “achieving net-zero economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 2050” can be interpreted in widest possible sense and admits many activities within CONNECT’s remit such as smart grids, zero-emission networks and sustainable Internet of Things.

Science Foundation Ireland is making financial support available to the Zero Emissions Challenge over a three-staged competitive process. In the first stage, funding of €20K will be allocated for a three-month Concept Phase to enable the team to establish the feasibility and viability of the proposed idea.

The workshop will attempt to facilitate the formation of teams who can address Zero Emissions Challenges.
