About this event
The ICON Women’s Housing Forum is a new Community Development Programme (CDP) in Dublin North Inner City (NIC) which focuses on women’s experiences in housing. Access to affordable and adequate housing is profoundly gendered and intimately linked to women’s poverty. Women’s disadvantaged position in the labour market, including part-time, precarious and/or low-paid employment and unpaid care work, has a direct impact on their housing. Certain groups of women are more likely to experience instability & inequality such as BME, disabled and refugee women, women who have been in the criminal justice system, LGBTI (particularly transgender) women, older and younger women, women who sell sex, lone parents and women with other caring responsibilities and women experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
