WHAT’S CRAICLY? CRAICLY is a storytelling group that pops up in atmospheric, unique venues all over Ireland. Combining places and people, CRAICLY uses storytelling, to curate fun, cultural and socialable events in beautiful places.

“Journeys & Reflections”: Intimate, unique storytelling event in historic Irish garden with newly launched event space accompanied by figurative painting, personal photographic & antique mirror exhibition.

WHAT’S THIS CRAICLY EVENT?

JUNE BLAKE’S GARDEN is a national treasure of rich, wonderful, natural three acre gardens nestled in the Blessington, Wicklow countryside. The garden also hosts a wonderful stonecut courtyard and the recently launched Grinding House Event space.

Our evening will first welcome guests to the garden, with drinks and with a private garden tour with June. You'll have time to relax and enjoy the garden before casual and sociable supper followed by stories! The stories and the accompanying artistic exhibition are on the theme "Journeys & Reflections."

THE STORIES & EXHIBITION:

The story theme (true stories told by prearranged story tellers!) of “Journeys & Reflections” will be complemented and enhanced within the storytelling stone walls of the Grinding House, by both an accompanying exhibition of preparatory works for a recently (sold out) exhibition entitled “Flowers” by celebrated Waterford figurative artist Ciara Gormley and a rare family photographic memorial from June’s childhood. These works will be reflected by candlelight through historic gilded mirrors from the recently released private collection of Ireland’s longest serving Master Gilder, Susan Mulhall.

Frequently asked questions

What's CRAICLY?

CRAICLY is a storytelling group that pops up in atmospheric, unique venues all over Ireland. Combining places and people, CRAICLY uses storytelling, and the sharing of true stories and experiences to help bring us together…and to have some craic doing it!

Does everyone tell a story?

Nope. CRAICLY curates this in advance, and storytellers have a common theme ( Journeys & Reflections in this case), and we organise usually about 4/5 storytellers. People are of course welcome to contribute on the evening, but we never call upon people.

Can I be a featured storyteller?

Potentially, absolutely. Please email jane@craiclystories.com if you'd like to be part of the curated group. The theme is "Journeys & Reflections". Advice / Help will be shared before the event, and also stories need to be true, personal ones.

Is there accomodation at the venue?

Yes! There are beautiful, renovated, stone cut cottages available for weekend accommodation. You can view and book via http://www.juneblake.ie/cms/ There are special rates for event attendees.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, there is.
