Creative Workshop with Órla Mc Govern
A creative workshop exploring writing, storytelling, performance, and improvisation.
This creative workshop at Interface with Órla Mc Govern weaves together written text, storytelling, performance and improvisation. Participants will be guided to develop an original piece of their own, allowing story to emerge through the use of personal objects, gentle physical exploration, and improvisational techniques.
There will be space to explore personal narratives, newly imagined fiction, or discovered and reimagined myth — according to each participant’s preference. Attendees will be encouraged to play, take creative risks and settle more deeply into their imaginative process. The workshop supports individual choice in the kind of story that unfolds with an emphasis on working at a comfortable pace — whether that leads to the beginnings of a single idea or the blossoming of something more expansive.
This workshop is open to all adults with no particular experience in theatre or storytelling required, however an interest in exploring story, whatever the artform, is recommended.
There will be some movement in the workshop but those with restricted mobility are welcome to attend.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable warm clothes, bring a notebook, a snack and drinking water. Hot drinks will be provided.
