For young people who want to explore drumming and percussion, and all things that shake, bang, and crash, touring percussionist Davie Ryan will host a special workshop with Music Generation Clare as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2024. Those taking part will work with Davie to create or perform a short piece of music for using percussion instruments and get the chance to work with one of Ireland’s top drummers!
Admission to the workshop is free.
The workshop is open to young musicians from age 7 to 18, and all genres from trad, classical, rock, hip-hop and everything in between.
Davie is a drummer with extensive experience both nationally and internationally as a touring & recording musician, producer, and educator in a range of diverse genres including pop, jazz, folk, rock, world and traditional music. He has worked with artists such as Cat Stevens, Jack O’Rourke, Mick Flannery, Donal Lunny, Ariel Posen, Talos and many others. He has wide-ranging expertise as a recording artist and has worked with many renowned studio producers both in Ireland and abroad. Davie has his own recording studio, Under The Umbrella in Cork City, where he provides both remote and in-person recording/production.
