Ever wanted to learn Parkour but didn't know where to start, well here is your chance.
Combining the basics in Parkour as well as the new discipline of Performance Parkour in a fun and unique way this course will arm you with everything you need to start experimenting with Parkour.
Displacement is group of like-minded people with a desire to work with and promote Parkour. The company was formed in 2008 after a performance for Dublin's Fringe Festival with the realisation that this art form desperately needed a direction in Ireland and was done with the aim of "representing and furthering the evolution of Parkour, through teaching and performance”. This has been achieved through various media works, performances, talks, events, workshops and classes.
Displacement is actively involved within the Irish community, posting and organising "jams" on the form pkire.com. We took it upon ourselves to setup Ireland's first full time parkour class in early 2009, as well as helping to set up some college societies along the way.
It is through our classes that we try to pass on the knowledge we have received from our on-going training with the founding members of the art, in a fun and safe way.
Outside of the Irish community, Displacement is also a founding member of the newly formed Performance Parkour Network. An international organisation for traceurs (parkour practitioners), performers and teachers that are interested in working with Parkour in a performance context to make contacts, hear news and plan collaborations.
What to wear/ bring: Loose tracksuit or other comfortable bottoms, a tight-fitting t-shirt and shoes with good grip.
The only thing you need to bring is water and a willingness to try something new!
