About this event

Temper-Mental MissElayneous born Elayne Harrington is an Artist, Educator, Musician and Poet.

An accomplished performer in the Irish Hiphop and poetry world. She wrote her first poem at 9 and then discovered Hiphop, which was to become her driving force along with her first love – Punk. At age 14 she named herself ‘Temper-Mental’ and added ‘MissElayneous’ to her moniker at 19.

After several solo years on the circuit, the straight-edge punk rapper became an official duo act when she met turntablist DJ FunkTom in 2014. TMM are an anarcho-punk Hiphop duet that work with the edgiest produce from other ‘crust of the underground’ beatmakers and musicians.

Unrelenting lyrics and complex rap patterns, along with sampling, scratching, beatbox and bodhrán accompaniment make this Celtic Hiphop couple an aggressively playful, provocative and engaging live act and full on experience.

Conor O’Malley was born in Dublin. His music mixes melody, stories, poetry, history and memory, to create a style of lyric documentary that is influenced by everything from family, friendship, culture, identity, and the love of people and place.

Working with great live and studio Musicians over the years has given Conor the wherewithal to carve his own unique sound in multiple genres whilst collaborating with exciting talents along the way. The thread and tradition of great songwriting always being the main focus of the projects. Over the years there have been various incarnations at the heart and soul of Conor's live shows (Wolfrun, The Natural, The Hit Parade)

The reception to radio play, gigs, and festivals in the UK and recent shows in the Workmans Club and The Soundhouse in Dublin have shown that the Music, and Conor's backing band 'The Hit Parade' have found a live show, that is an exciting combination of music styles and songwriting influences.

Conor is releasing a new song called 'To the Lighthouse' - a dedication to all those people who have lost a loved one to suicide and those who have neeeded the support of Pieta house... Proceeds of the night will go towards the Darkness into light event 2024.
