Decolonising Research Practice

As part of Durham University's <a href="https://sites.durham.ac.uk/dcad/decolonising-the-curriculum/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Decolonising the Curriculum</a> workshop series, this Decolonising Research Workshop is co-hosted by the <a href="https://www0.sun.ac.za/international/africa-centre-for-scholarship.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Africa Centre for Scholarship</a>, Stellenbosch University, and <a href="https://www.dur.ac.uk/researchmethodscentre/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Durham Research Methods Centre</a>, Durham University. We will be discussing how to decolonise research practice covering the lifecycle of a research project, from building the team and design decisions, to data collection, analysis, interpretation and publication. We hope this interdisciplinary forum will provide the opportunity to share, reflect on, challenge and change research practices.This virtual event is only open to students and staff from Stellenbosch and Durham Universities and is free to attend. <h3>Workshop Structure:</h3>The Workshop, consisting of four short talks followed by a panel discussion, takes place on Wednesday 9th December 2020 at 1600 S.African time, which is 1400 UK time.
