Developing Multimedia Resources to enhance learning. 

The aim of the seminar is to encourage lecturers in all disciplines to consider how they might incorporate visual imagery in their teaching resources so that students would be more cognitively engaged and active learners. The seminar will focus on using technology to maximise learning impact by exploring the sourcing of images online.
There will a discussion in relation to why students learn better with images and words than with words alone.
Staff from across the HEA sector are invited to attend and it is hoped that this will facilitate dialogue between colleagues from different disciplines as they explore the possibility of using this approach in their teaching.

Details about the Facilitator

Dr. David Roberts teaches specialist modules and courses on business entrepreneurship in postconflict spaces and on visual communication in Loughborough University. He was appointed Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2017 and runs a consultancy that supports multimedia learning development and training in universities in the UK, Europe and US.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

IADT is well served by bus links - 46a, 75, 75a, 63, 111 all pass within 500metres of the campus. There is plenty of pay and display parking - 50c per hour.

What do I need to bring to the event?

Please bring a tablet, phone or laptop as there will be opportunities to look for resources on the day.

No - this event is environmentally friendly so just register online and come along on the day.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
