On the 14th of January 2021 the Digital Entrepreneurship Event co-organised by FEB Alumni Network and Hanze International Business School will take place online. This event will enlighten you on different topics within digital entrepreneurship:

The event is open for alumni, students and staff of the University of Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences, and for those who are interested in the topic or are affiliated to the speakers. Last one can register for a complimentary ticket.

About the speakers

Mariusz Soltanifar

Mariusz Soltanifar is a lecturer and coach in marketing and entrepreneurship at the International Business School at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, Netherlands. He obtained a master’s degree in International Marketing and Business from the University of Łódź (Lodz) in Poland while writing his thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, located in Karlsruhe, Germany, and at the Helsinki University of Technology in Finland. He is currently finalising his Ph.D. research at the Open University of the Netherlands at the Faculty of Management in the Strategy and General Management Department on exploring the behaviour of non-managerial employees in the corporate entrepreneurship process. For many years, he has been a guest lecturer among others at universities in South Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, Indonesia, Switzerland and Germany.

He has contributed his marketing and entrepreneurship expertise to several academic textbooks published by McGraw-Hill, Pearson and Springer. His research has also been cited in publications on multinational management. From 2012 to 2018, he served as the CEO of the largest networking platform connecting Polish professionals abroad. In 2016, he received the Golden Owl Award in Vienna for his achievements. In addition to his accomplishments in academic institutions and texts, he has made practical contributions to innovative marketing projects across the globe.

Most importantly, he is a husband and a father, and in his free time, he enjoys long-distance running, cooking Persian dishes and serving local church communities.

Lars Heim

Originally from Braunschweig, Lars Heim is currently a doctoral researcher at Clausthal University of Technology and Business Development Manager at the Clausthal Executive School. He completed his Bachelor's degree in business administration at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in 2012 and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in Marketing at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2013. He then went through several positions in the economy in the fields of consulting, project management and marketing.

In 2016 he founded his first own company, Veggieflash, which marketed a kitchen aid for students. At the same time, he completed an extra occupational Master's degree in Business Psychology, which he obtained in 2017. He completed his doctoral thesis in 2020, which deals with Blockchain-Technology in relation to business models. He co-authored the chapter "Blockchain as an Approach for Secure Data Storage on Digital Consulting Platforms" together with Dr. Sebastian Gerth from the University of Erfurt in the book "Digital Entrepreneurship. Impact on Business and Society".

Florian Messner-Schmitt

Florian is a passionate entrepreneur and leader with over 10 years of experience in mobility and logistics. Within Deutsche Bahn he is responsible for corporate entrepreneurship to foster entrepreneurial bottom-up innovation. Since 3 years his team and him identify, validate and develop new products and business models together with employees and business units. He is enthusiastic in developing a great team and truly love empowering talents around him. During his career at DB, Florian has worked on several digital transformation projects within corporate strategy such as the foundation of Deutsche Bahn Digital Ventures, innovation ecosystem and air & ocean freight marketplaces.

Besides being an innovation executive at Deutsche Bahn Florian has started his own entrepreneurial journey. ROUTINERY is a platform to develop and scale high-end skin care brands. Neobömi is the first brand we scale via pharmacies, amazon and our own onlineshop.

Topics such as leadership, entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, strategy, digital transformation, disruption, skin care brands, omni-channel sales and scaling inspire him a lot.

About the moderator

The event will be moderated by drs. Hanna Jakobs Van der Stok, originally from South Africa, having worked commercially in the field of Marketing & Innovation for many years, currently active as the Business Relationship Manager for Hanze International Business Office (HIBO) and a business advisor for EEN (Enterprise Europe Network).
