About this event

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a first-timer,looking for a challenge this year’s Dingle Way Challenge promises an unforgettable journey through the rugged beauty of the West Kerry peninsula.

The allure of the 2024 Dingle Way Challenge lies in the diverse landscapes of the 2 routes: The Ultra Route (42Km) starting at Coumeenole, through the lovely town of Dingle , onwards to Lispole and finishing at Annascaul and starting at the beautiful Ventry beach the Standard Route (30Km) continues through Dingle onto Lispole and finishes in Annascaul.

As you walk, you’ll encounter dramatic changes in scenery:

  • From the crashing waves of the Atlantic at Slea Head , taking in the view of the magnificent Blasket islands , to walking on the golden sands of Ventry beach and on into the picturesque town of Dingle.
  • Leaving Dingle on the Conor pass road will provide magnificent views back over Dingle town and harbour.
  • Scenic and quiet roads lead inland through farmland to Lispole,
  • Continue along the southern foothills of the Slieve Mish Mountains to Annascaul. Annascaul is home of the famous Antartic explorer Tom Crean.
