Section A - Glenahoo to Annascaul (13Km)
This historic valley route, Macha na Bó Trail, passes over the fabled Wolf Step river crossing. The harsh ascent on the Glenahoo side is rewarded with stunning views and a rapid descent to Annascaul Lake and onwards to Annascaul Village. Take time here to avail of the refreshments before continuing on the next section from Annascaul to Camp.
Section B – Annascaul to Camp (17 Km)
This section of the route will take walkers via famous Inch Beach, along past the Maumnahaltóra Peat Bogs before reaching a height of 235m as it crosses a saddle between the peaks of Corrin and Knockbrack and from there a descent to Camp School for a break for refreshments before tackling the final section from Camp to Blennerville.
Section C - Camp to Blennerville (16Km)
As the Dingle Way passes the entrances to several impressive glacial valleys, a number of rivers including Derrymore River, Derryquay River and Curraheen River make their way towards the sea. These are easily crossed by either bridge or stepping stones. Features of interest to keep an eye out for along this mountain section are the preserved ruins of Killelton Oratory and an old Victorian-era reservoir that used to supply water to Tralee. At Tonavane the route follows the public road to St Pat's in Blennerville where walkers can relax, enjoy some refreshments, food and music.
