Disability allowance Information Evening

Overview

Information session on work placements, employment supports, and how working affects Disability Allowance

Autism Support Louth & Meath are delighted to facilitate an information session presented by a Social Welfare Employment Officer on work placements, employment supports, and how taking up work can affect Disability Allowance (DA) and related benefits.

Parents, school leavers, and carers are warmly invited to attend this session, which will outline the schemes and supports available to people in receipt of Disability Allowance, along with practical guidance on moving into employment.

More specifically, they will go over:

  • The Work Placement Experience Programme
  • How beginning Employment or Self Employment could affect DA entitlement and any subsidiary benefits (Free Travel, Medical Card)
  • Returning to DA payment, when/if the employment or work placement ceases.
  • The Wage Subsidy Scheme
  • The Work and Access Grants
