Fingal Libraries are delighted to welcome historian Laura Fitzachary, known online as Seek the Historic, to Swords Castle chapel for Heritage Week. In this one-hour talk, Laura will examine the intricacies of serving food in the 18th and 19th century big house, from dressing the table to dressing oneself.
Laura Fitzachary is a historian and historical consultant based in Dublin, Ireland. She has a background in medieval art and architecture and is best known now for delving into the history of art, beauty, dress and fashion. She has been published in various academic fields and has made many media appearances as a historical expert. Interdisciplinary connections and collaborations lie at the heart of what Laura does, with a particular focus on highlighting the importance of women's history, fashion, dress and beauty history in Ireland and beyond.
