Drones in Public Service – Understanding the Technology and Exploring Community Services

What could drones do for communities in Dublin?

Cities across Europe are exploring how drones can support public services, improve safety, and enable new ways of working. But how do drones actually work in practice? How are they regulated in Ireland? And what could this mean for communities in Dublin?

Join us for an interactive community workshop where you’ll discover how drones operate in urban settings, learn about current regulations and operations, and explore how Dublin City Council approaches their responsible use in delivering local services.

You’ll take part in two hands-on activities:

  • Explore a real public service case

Work through a practical scenario to identify how drones could help communities, discuss potential benefits and concerns, and explore how risks could be mitigated.

  • Imagine a drone-enabled community service

Share ideas and perspectives on how drones could support Dublin communities, in the future, in meaningful and responsible ways.

We've designed this workshop for everyone and no technical knowledge is required. Come with your questions, ideas, and curiosity. Let's create an open dialogue about the future of drones in our community.

4th March 5.30 - 7pm

Pearse Library, Pearse St, Dublin

19th March 5.30 - 7pm

ILAC Centre Central Library, Dublin

Open to all. No prior experience needed.
