Easter Eggspress - Train 2

To celebrate the Easter weekend, we are delighted to invite you to join us on board our Easter Eggspress special.

Hauled by our beautifully restored steam locomotive No.171 we will depart from Drogheda Mac Bride station at 12:05 and travel North along the Great Northern Railway line, immediately passing over the impressive Boyne viaduct, then powering along through the towns of Castlebellingham and Dunleer before arriving into Dundalk's Clarke station. The amazing sight and sounds of our train will delight young and old.

Each child ticket includes a small Easter Egg which will be distributed during the journey. Children Under 2 do not need to purchase a ticket if they are sitting on their parent / guardian's lap. However, they will not receive an Easter Egg, please purchase a child's ticket if you require the space and Easter Egg (we are happy for you to bring one along too for the little one!).

On arrival at Dundalk, passengers must remain on the station. The locomotive will change ends here and you will have an opportunity to see our beautiful locomotive before hearing the whistle and all aboard for the return journey to Drogheda, with an arrival time of 13:45.

We have a snack car on board and for the adults a full bar serving draught Guinness and selection of beers, wines, spirits and much more. Great craic is guaranteed.

Please note that as with all our steam specials, we endeavor to operate this special with our advertised steam locomotive. We only have one operational locomotive available, therefore in the event of a failure of this locomotive or in a period of hot and prolonged dry weather, we may have to substitute the steam locomotive with a diesel locomotive. Please make all aware of this when booking tickets, as tickets will not be refunded in this instance.
