Ambassador Programme: Co-marketing Outdoor experiences for the off-season visitor
THE LIVE Project, now in its final year, is hosting a series of events as part of their Ambassador Programme, to shape and share the resources and outputs we are creating on outdoor experiences for the off-season visitor. We are delighted to kickstart our programme this November
--------------------------------------------------------
Experiences for the Off-Season Visitor: Coastal Wildlife
Indoor Event:
11.30pm - 1pm, 16th November 2022 , Cahersiveen Library
In the first in our series of workshops we will discuss how to tempt visitors to the Iveragh peninsula outside of peak tourism seasons by promoting coastal wildlife experiences such as dolphin and bird watching. Learn about the resources the LIVE Project have created and how you can use them as marketing tools and as practical digital guides for your customers.
Outdoor Event:
10.30am - 1pm Wednesday 30th November, Reenroe Cliff Path
In a follow-up session, we will explore the Reenroe Cliff Path as a winter birdwatching site. Come along for a walk and talk to see the digital resources in action, network and chat about using outdoor activities such as these as visitor experiences to promote Iveragh as a great off season destination.
--------------------------------------------------------
FITNESS LEVEL - This walk is rated easy and is suitable for people with any level of fitness. The ground is uneven and there is one stile to cross so caution is advised.
OUTDOOR EVENT - The outdoor section of the Ambassador Programme event is weather dependent and suitable clothing is advised. Registering your interest in attending will allow us to update you closer to the date.
PARKING - There is ample parking at both Cahersiveen Library and at Reenroe/Inny Beach car park.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
- Cahersiveen is serviced by both Bus Eireann and Local Link Kerry.
- Reenroe Cliff Path can be accessed by Local Link Kerry to Ballinskelligs, and an approximate 4.3km walk to Reenroe/Inny Strand Car park.
MORE INFORMATION
Do I need to attend both events? No, while we recommend you do to get the maximum benefit from the programme, it is not necessary to attend both of these events.
• Is it for me? If you are a resident of Iveragh with an interest in nature, heritage, sustainability, tourism, the environment, developing new ways of working, collaborating, learning from others, and working towards a mode of tourism on Iveragh that sustains the community and the environment we live in, then it’s for you. You could be a business owner, a retiree, a landowner or farmer, a subject expert, dreaming of setting up a business, hoping to meet more people locally, enthusiastic to get outside and explore, new to the area, or born and bred in south Kerry.
• Is it accredited? No. There’s no certificate at the end because we hope that there will be no end. The overarching aim is to foster a network that could continue to meet and share knowledge into the future, growing and adapting digital resources to suit the needs of your business and your community.
