Join us at Ferbane Bog to hear from local farmers and community members protecting nature in the area. The event is a collaboration between the FarmPEAT Project and Ferbane Tidy Towns. There will also be home baked goodies by service users from St. Hilda’s Services!


Learn about farming on peat soils, the biodiversity and conservation of raised bogs, and community projects in your local area.


It will be an opportunity to get some fresh air, spend time on the bog, and build new connections with the landscape and each other.


All are welcome, farmers especially!


Meeting Point: Ferbane Heritage Centre, Ferbane, Co. Offaly, R42 E938 (we will then walk to the bog).

Is this event suitable for children?

Children are welcome to attend, however, the discussions and activities will be tailored towards an older audience. The bog is always a fun place to explore - so please don't hesitate to bring them along to connect with this wonderful habitat!

What if I have accessibility or transport needs?

Please contact katie@farmpeat.ie and we will do our best to help. For example, we could collect you from the nearest public transport stop.

Will there be toilet facilities?

There will be toilets at the meeting point, but not at the bog itself.
