Expertise in STEM fields can greatly accelerate innovation and technological development across regional economies, which in turn are seen as drivers of social and economic growth.
However, across Ireland, women represent fewer than 25% of people working in STEM sectors and that shortfall is set only to increase as future demand for STEM skills increases.
In order to realise our full economic potential, we must create an environment that encourages women and girls to study and take up careers in science and technology.
Join key stakeholders across Ireland NW as we explore the pivotal role of women in STEM, the challenges they face and the collective efforts needed to achieve gender equality in a future-proof regional economy.
