About this Event
Create your own unique embroidered festive decorations with visual artist Caroline Schofield. Learn how to use your sewing machine as a drawing tool to create designs inspired by exhibits in Curious Treasures. The main technique explored will be stitching onto water-soluble material. Technical questions about this workshop can be sent to events@ndcg.ie.
This workshop is free to attend. On the day of the event you will receive a zoom link to join your online workshop.

• Machine sewing thread
• Scrap/recycled fabric

• Variety of drawing tools: coloured marker, pencil, pen, paper etc

Keep Well Campaign The Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s (DCCI), National Design & Craft Gallery have developed a Christmas Crafts Programme for 2020. Our programme is part of the Department of Health’s Government Keep Well Campaign. It encourages people at home to be creative and to learn something new under the Switching Off and Being Creative campaign strand.
Our offering is aimed at people of all ages and ability ranges to engage with our series of online creative activities, and postal activates designed to promote well-being and resilience during the COVID-19 crisis. The Keep Well Campaign will run until March 2020. Our partners include Slainte Care/Healthy Ireland (Dept of Health), Pobail, Kilkenny County Council and NLGA (300 library branches nationwide).
