Description

The Limerick and Clare Further Education and Training (FET) Network is a practitioner led community of practice. Membership of the FET network is voluntary and open to all FET practitioners, third level staff and students and others in the region who may have a role or interest in further and adult education and training research and/or practice.

The purpose of the network is to:

• Create opportunities for peers to connect and share ideas, knowledge and practice on the broad area of further education and training, outside the realm of the everyday work environment.
• Explore what works and doesn’t work in teaching and learning, looking at theory, the latest research and examples of new and innovative practice.
• Provide a platform to disseminate research findings related to FET, highlight gaps in research and allow members share information about new research and potential collaborations.
• Create an environment where practitioners can reflect on and discuss the values, philosophies and transformational power of adult education.
• Inspire and energise members.

For this, our second meeting, we have the following presentations from Further Education and Training Practitoners who a) have completed or are working on research in any aspect of further education and training or b) want to disseminate information relating to attendance at any Erasmus Plus Conferences.

  • Social Enterprise as part of the RISE Project - Erasmus+
  • Workplace Learning Conference Dissemination
  • Personhood in Lifelong Learning
  • Wellbeing Research
  • Adults Learning Mathematics
  • Questions and Answers

We will be asking presenters to give a very short 15 minute overview of the research, findings (including preliminary findings) and any implications for practice. We will then take a short QnA with speakers.

We will also be looking to brainstorm ideas and themes for future network meetings.

Tea and coffee provided.
