Foraging Walk in Galway

To celebrate National Biodiversity Week, join us for a Foraging Walk and Talk event on Sunday the 26th May at 10:00 am at Rinville Park, Galway.

Discover the wonders of woodland and shore foraging and uncover the fascinating world of edible plant life through a captivating walk and talk experience with our knowledgeable guide Olwyn Williams.

This event is perfect for beginner foragers and non-beginners, gardeners, foodies, and nature lovers alike. You might even change your perspective on 'weeds'!

Foraging walk includes:

Foraging safety talk at beginning, including respectful and ethical harvesting practices.

Plant identification walk where we cover basic botanical traits of plants and plant families, food and medicinal uses, sometimes a bit of folklore.

Some wild food and beverage tasters for everyone at the end of the walk. Please bring your own keep cup for this so we don't use disposable cups.

Important Notes:

Please do wear weather appropriate clothes, waterproof footwear is particularly advisable as we will be exploring the shore and woods.

This event is brought to you by Climate Ambassadors. Any queries, do get in touch with our Climate Action Officer, Monica via mmullins@eeu.antaisce.org.

Meeting on Sunday 26th May at 10:00am, at Rinville Park car park.
